It is customary for us as JIAM to usher in the new year with an excited shout of joy and triumph in the house of the Lord. This year it was no different and the atmosphere was the same in all our locations.

Prophetic Scriptures flared up in the air as our Bishop decreed 2019 as the year of Revival. The excitement in the room was unfathomable, from a glorious year of establishment in 2018 to the long-awaited Revival year that was finally upon us, God be praised.

Revival refers to a Spiritual reawakening from a state of dormancy or stagnation. This is the year that God will revive all areas f our lives.

  1. The first step to Revival is returning back to God,back to our first love.

Revelation 2

Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.

5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

Make a prayer of repentance,return to the Lord and let him revive you.

Psalms 85:6 – 7

Will You not revive us again,
That Your people may rejoice in You?

Show us Your mercy, Lord,
And grant us Your salvation.

In this year of Revival, the Lord will turn situations around,

He will pronounce you blameless before your accusers. (Hosea 10:12)

He will justify you in this season.

He will give you healing .

2. The second step of Revival is bringing forth.

This year 2019 is the year of bringing forth. The number 9 is God’s number and it means bring-forth. Just like a woman brings forth a child after 9 months so shall you in this season bring forth your blessings.

3. Revival time is a time to be delivered and uplifted

Psalms 32:7

You are my hiding place;
You shall preserve me from trouble;
You shall surround me with songs of deliverance.

4. Revival time is a time to receive beauty for our ashes.

Isaiah 61:3

To [aconsole those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”

5. Revival time is a time for restoration.

Isaiah 61:7

Instead of your shame you shall have double honor,
And instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion.
Therefore in their land they shall possess double;
Everlasting joy shall be theirs.
